March 3, 2011 turned out to be an exciting day for QNET and the rugby world in Hong Kong. The Hong Kong Football Club (HKFC) managed not one, but three wins, with several teams walking away with top prizes!
The Club team won the Premiership, the Dragons clinched the A League, and the Scorpions bagged the Community Leagues.
This success marks the first in 20 years to occur in the history of Hong Kong rugby, and QNET, being the HKFC Gold sponsor, was there to show its support.
Mr Richard Zinkiewicz, Director of International Operations, and Mr Joseph Lo, QNet Ltd Business Development Manager, attended the event and presented the Grand Champion Trophy to the HKFC Rugby Team.

The determination and dedication of these rugby players mirror the drive of QNET’s Independent Representatives,” said Mr Zinkiewicz.
As a Gold sponsor, QNET’s logo is proudly displayed on the players’ jerseys. Other sponsors of the Club include Newedge, DHL, CBRE and Talent2.
QNET’s sports sponsorships include the AFC Champions League and the Marussia F1 team amongst others.

QNet Partners Up with the Malaysian Hockey Federation

Sports are more than just a source of entertainment — they can also teach you teamwork and discipline, both of which have placed QNet at the forefront for success.
QNet has had a long history of sports sponsorships, with recent ones including sponsorships for football, automotive sports racing and rugby. Now it’s time to welcome a new sport to our Sports Sponsorships programme — hockey!

QNet has recently signed to be Official Direct Selling Partners to the Malaysian Hockey Federation (MHF). As part of this sponsorship, QNet will be branded in all Malaysian Hockey League matches through A-boards, and in all live telecast matches there will be an award presentation of QNet’s Most Promising Player of the match. QNet will also be branded in all Tun Abdul Razak Championship matches.
Not long ago, MHF launched their Youth programme, 1MAS Hockey Project, with the President of MHF, His Royal Highness, The Crown Prince of Pahang, Tengku Abdullah and Prime Minister of Malaysia, The Right Honourable, Datuk Seri Najib Razak, in attendance.
As official direct selling partners to MHF, QNet was invited to be present at this launch.  QI Executive Chairman, Dato’ Vijay Eswaran, was accorded VIP status. During this event, which was telecasted live on Malaysian TV, the 1975 World Cup Hockey team and current national squad, fresh from their successful outing at the recent Asian Games in Guangzhou, were given tribute. Malaysian Hockey legends such as Poon Fook Loke and M. Mahendran were present there at the event.
QNet’s Most Promising Player Award.
The Malaysian Hockey League kicked off over the weekend on 18 December at the Stadium Tun Razak in Kuala Lumpur. Two matches were broadcast live on Malaysian TV. In the first live telecast match, Yayasan Negri Sembilan (YNS) armed with many Pakistani and Indian national players comfortably beat Maybank 4-1. At the end of the match, QNet Malaysia Director, Mr Stevenson Charles handed out the QNet’s Most Promising Player award to the player from Maybank.
In the second live telecast match, UniKL narrowly beat UiTM 3-2 by scoring the third goal in the last play of the match through a penalty corner. It was a heartbreak for the UiTM players as they were leading 2-1 prior to this. QNet’s Most Promising Player medal was awarded to Mohd Hanif Ibrahim from UiTM. QNet Malaysia Director and Deputy Regional Director, Mr Krish Kumar, handed out the award.

As the Official Direct Selling Partner to the Malaysian Hockey Federation, QNet officials were on hand to witness the final 2 games of the league and the closing ceremony of the MHL.  The VIP Guest of Honour was TYT Tun Mohd Khalil bin Yaakob, the Governor of Malacca.
As league champions of the MHL, Kuala Lumpur Hockey Club (KLHC) pocketed RM60,000, with 2nd placed Tenaga Nasional winning RM40,000 and 3rd placed Sapura collected RM30,000 for their efforts.

Mr Magandran Rajadurai, QI Director for Finance, together with Mr Nur Azmi Haji Ahmad, MHF Deputy President, presented the prizes to the runners up, Sapura. Also there at the event were Acting Managing Director of QNet Malaysia, Mr Stevenson Charles and Acting Head of Media & Communications, Mr Joshua Purushotman.
With the closing of the Malaysian Hockey League, we now look forward towards the next competition, the TNB Cup, where the top six finishers of the premier division and the top two finishers of Division 1 will face off in a knock-out cup competition.
As the Malaysian Hockey League wraps up, another QNet sport is kicking off… The AFC Champions League season begun this week!

Grand Double for KLHC in the Malaysian Hockey League

Kuala Lumpur Hockey Club (KLHC) achieved the double by winning both the Malaysian Hockey League and also the TNB Cup by beating Sapura 3-1 in the finals, over the weekend.
TNB Cup Champions, KLHC together with The Sultan of Perak, HM Sultan Azlan Shah, QNet Officials and other VIPs.
The finals was played in front of His Royal Highness, The Sultan of Perak, H.M. Sultan Azlan Shah, President of Asian Hockey Federation, and QNet officials, Stevenson Charles, Acting Managing Director and Vincent Goh, General Manager, and other sponsors.
KLHC got off to a flying start by drawing first blood as early as the 30th second, when Mohd Fitri scored the first goal for KLHC.  Sapura fought back to equalise and were rewarded in the 46th minute for their efforts when South Korean defender scored off their fourth penalty corner of the game.
Unfortunately that was as far as Sapura got. KLHC hit back 2 minutes later with a penalty corner conversion through Mohamed Razie Rahim, and Tengku Ahmad Tajuddin settled all disputes to the outcome by making it 3-1 to KLHC in the 59th minute.
KLHC also swept most of the individual awards by collecting Player of the Tournament, Man-of the-Match (final), and Top Goal Scorer.
As Direct Selling partners to the Malaysian Hockey Federation, QNet Malaysia Managing Director, Mr Stevenson Charles, presented the Man-of-the-Match (final) award to Roslan Jamaluddin of KLHC and the Top Goal Scorer award to Mohamed Razie Rahim, also of KLHC.  In addition to this, QNet Malaysia also presented the third place trophies to Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) who beat Yayasan Negeri Selangor (YNS) 3-1 in the earlier match.
With this completion now drawing to a close, QNet now looks forward to the next completion, The Razak Cup, starting 27 May 2011, where our QNet banners will fly proudly once again in conjunction with the Malaysian Hockey Federation.
